![]() ![]() Founding Fathers focuses on the eight most important political leaders of the revolutionary generation: John Adams, Abigail Adams, Aaron Burr, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington. Much of what occurred in this short period went on to determine the future of the country right up to the present day. The last decade of the eighteenth century was an extraordinarily significant part of American history. ![]() It is important to balance the “tool” of hindsight with trying to understand historical events in their proper context and imagine how it would have felt to witness them at the time. The American Revolution seemed unlikely or impossible at the time, but in hindsight it appears “inevitable.” The revolutionary leaders spoke with the confidence of people who knew they would have significant historical legacies, but at the same time they had no idea if their experiment would succeed. ![]()
